PRENATAL YOGA

Pregnancy is a time of constant change for your body, emotions, and daily rhythm.

Yoga offers a way to move through this time with greater comfort, calm, and connection.

Our prenatal yoga classes help ease physical discomfort, support your emotional wellbeing, and prepare you for the journey of birth. This embodied awareness is one of the best ways to prepare for labour and birth.

Classes are accessible to all fitness levels – even if you’re completely new to yoga, and we provide mats, blankets, and cushions for your comfort.

What to Expect in YogaBirth Classes

Many postures you’ll learn double as effective labour positions, and the breathing techniques mimic birth’s natural rhythms – helping you feel confident and resourced when it’s time to meet your baby.

With regular practice, these movements and breathing patterns become second nature; familiar tools you can draw on during labour to help your body work optimally and birth more easily.

The practice is gentle yet strengthening, with attention to posture, gravity, and the natural movements of the spine and pelvis.

Each class includes time for informal discussion on pregnancy and birth, offering information, reassurance, and a chance to connect with other mums-to-be.

Classes are kept small to ensure personal attention and a warm, supportive group atmosphere.

How Yoga Supports You

The key benefits of prenatal yoga include:

  • Deep relaxation to increase wellbeing and reduce stress.

  • Encourage optimal baby positioning for a smoother labour (through posture and poses).

  • Ease back and pelvic pain via improved posture and balance.

  • Understand how your body & breath work together during birth (so you can apply it in labour).

  • Slow down and connect with your baby – mindful bonding before birth.

  • Learn comfort measures and resting positions for labour (handy techniques for childbirth).

  • Improve energy and breathing efficiency in later pregnancy.

  • Strengthen and release your pelvic floor safely and effectively (important for birth and recovery).

  • Build friendships and share experiences with other pregnant women – creating a support network.
